Over 30 years ago, my late father Frank decided that there were no grilling seasonings at the local grocery store worth using. None of them inspired him, or really added to the flavor of burgers, steaks, or chicken that he loved to throw on the grill after a long day of work at his auto repair shop. So, being the strong-willed blue-collar mechanic that he was, he decided to start blending his own.

Through years of trial and error, he created a family recipe of spices that elevates average burgers to new heights, and delicious freshly ground beef patties into a celestial culinary experience. At all of our family barbeques, and neighborhood gatherings, people would ask where he bought his spice rubs, and he would just laugh, and when someone was bold enough to ask for the recipe, he would go inside and reemerge with a zip lock back for them to take home. It was imperative to him that only those who shared the last name Zonkowski ever know the recipe.

In 2019 nearly a decade after my father's passing, I began Zonk Foods with our Frankie Z's All-Purpose Seasoning as the pillar of our line of spices and seasonings. It will elevate any burger to heights previously though unimaginable. One bite, and Frankie Z's will become a staple in your spice rack!
